What material are our opal picks made of
We have 2 types of Opal picks:
The immitation opals, used for our picks, are a heat-hardened resin with a mixture of silica in a short period of time. Due to their formation feature it is also named as "Resin Colloidal Imitation Opal". Different from lab-grown synthetic opal with high silica percentage, It only contains 25% of silica. It could also be described as Opal-like-plastic as this is a new plastic material with color change (Aurora Borealis-ish) effect.
Lab-grown Opals, These opal takes about a year to grow in laboratory and is similar in properties to natural opal. These opals contain a high percentage of silica, at least 80%. It's a beautifull gemstone with perfect colour vibrancy, revealing the beauty of precious opal.
What can you expect from our opal picks
Opal guitar picks display waves of color changes like aurora borealis. The Opal color pattern is very irregular and will be very hard to have a standardized color range. This means our handmade picks are all one of a kind!
Our picks have a thickness of 1 mm and 2 mm in various shapes and sizes, whatever meets your preference. If you can't find your preference just send us an email or a message on insta. We are just starting out so all your input is valuable to us.
Our picks are not as soft as the standard plectra, they don't tear easy and will last a long time. They also produce a brighter sound than regular picks because they are not as flexible. This will also help you boost your playing skills, they make you play more direct.
